Each decision fits on one panel.
Expense approvals lists claims waiting on you, each with the amount, the step it is on and how many things are worth checking. Review opens the claim: the total, what was spent line by line, and the flags the rep was shown when they sent it.
The flags are the ones stamped at submit, so an approver sees exactly what the rep was warned about, not a re-judgement against a policy that changed since.
The ladder comes from the claim.
A claim climbs the rep's own manager chain. Your policy sets how many levels every claim needs, and bigger claims can add levels above set amounts, the way finance usually describes it: over a certain total, the regional head signs as well.
A claim with nobody to approve it cannot be sent, so no one approves their own spending by accident.
A decision always has a reason.
Approve passes the claim to the next step or finishes it. Send back returns it to the rep to correct. Reject ends it. Sending back and rejecting both need a note, enforced on the screen and again by the server, and the rep reads that note on their phone.
Questions people ask.
Can two managers approve the same step at once?
How many approval levels can a claim need?
Can a rep approve their own claim?
Works well with.
